Identifying our Enemy

We cannot fight shadows, but must give form to our adversary, an ideology which has a name and clearly defined limits. This ideology gave birth to our Republic, its Constitutional form of government. Formed the institutions which allowed for the eventual subjugation of the economy to capital. All for the sake of that new deity which we call individualism. This unholy trinity is the new religion of the West, together they form what we call liberalism. This political project which has become dominant over the last 200 years has turned the Western world inside out, eroding the very foundations which has guaranteed its continued existence. Stretching all the way back to classical Greece when philosophers like Aristotle who imagined that happiness comes from the individual learning how to actively contribute to society and through their efforts grew in virtue. This revolutionary new form of government which we presently live under flipped this idea on its head from its very inception. Instead, it was argued by the ‘luminaries’ of the time that society would achieve maximum flourishing by freeing the individual from collective obligations laid out by the church to chart their own paths as reason would be enough. Rather than the individual being of service to society, now society should be tailored to meeting the whims of individuals. Thus began the fraying of a once great tapestry into individual threads.
